Sewing As Stress Relief

This morning with the kids was hellish. I mean downright I wanna run away, or lock myself in the bedroom and never come out, sell my kids on e-bay kind of morning. Ya know what I mean right? It's not only me? *sigh*

Well anyway, I decided to shove both of them in front a TV with a movie and give them coloring books and crayon rolls and snacks. Anything to make them leave me alone while I sew. I've discovered that sewing is very therapeutic. I'm likin it. A lot. I went to the fabric store last night and got some great deals, so I was already itchin to make some stuff. I decided this was the PERFECT time. I made THIS for my little monster. Woops I meant little sweet baby girl.

I'm Pretty Excited about it. I'm going to make me one Just like it sometime today. I can't resist. I mean OBVIOUSLY. It's cupcakes! *CHEESE*

  3. Very cute!!! I am glad to see that you're loving sewing. Me too!

Oh... and if the kids are driving you crazy at home, wait until you get them in a tent, camping. It might be worse!

  5. OMG, that is SOOOO cute! My daughter would love something like that....any chances you have an Etsy shop?? I can't sew worth a darn...and I mean, like can't even sew a button on a shirt.

Oh and you're not the alone who's kids are driving her batty! My kids do it all the time to me too. Of course they only do it when I'm trying to get other things done. When I give them my full attention, they could care less.

    Stopping from SITS Sharefest!

  6. I love the apron. Too adorable!

My kids love to drive me crazy. I think driving me crazy is Mikey Bear's hobby.

    Happy SITS Saturday Sharefest!

  8. Love that apron! The cupcakes on it are adorable. I need to go out and get fabric for my apron, which you've now inspired me to get done. I know what you mean about sewing being therapeutic, it works for me too. Can't wait to see more of your sewing projects! :-)

  12. Stopping by to say hi to a SITSta that loves to sew! What a cutie, and the apron's nice to ;).

Just wait until they are older. My girls woke up my boys by throwing furniture as they were fighting. At 6 AM grrrr. Add raging pubecent hormones to the mix and it gets ugly, and mommy locks herself in the bathroom. Sewing is great therapy (though if you develop the fabric addiction that goes along with it, a true therapist is probably cheaper lol), when your kids will leave you alone to do it.

  16. Your daughter AND the apron are adorable! I wish so badly that I could sew. I wish I had learned how when I was young because both my mother and my grandmother (who lived right beside us) both sewed the whole time I was growing up. *sigh* You should definitely make some and sell them. You could make some great money doing so.

Anyhoo, I'm stopping by from SITS! I just wanted to share some comment love. I hope the rest of your week is absolutely amazing!

    Many Blessings,

    Teresa <><
